Photo of the Week - Berlin TV tower
After a little break - back with this shot of the Berlin TV tower just next to Alexanderplatz. All the pigeons just sit there all day watching the tourists come and go - you can take the elevator all the way up for a fantastic view!

Photo of the Week - Valetta from Vittoriosa
Valetta, the capital of Malta is on a small headland that is built as an awesome fortress. Before they built Valetta, the Knights of Malta had a fort in Vittoriosa (then called Birgu, the Maltese name) which is where they were during the Siege of Malta when the Turks attacked them for ages and amazingly they survived.
All the stone has a kind of golden colour, being mainly sandstone I think, and it erodes pretty fast too.
The view you see here from Vittoriosa looks accross the famous Grand Harbour.

Photo of the Week - Ornö
Ok, so it has been more than a week. To make up for it I'll put here a midsummer photo of the lovely house we stayed in on Ornö, a lovely island in the Stockholm archipelago.

Photo of the Week - Cow on West Bay
A photo taken last summer on a walk around West Bay in Dorset, England. A fine cow with a beautiful view over the town and the sea - which is out of shot to the right.... One of the best cow fields in the country to be sure.

Photo of the Week - Dublin Spire
This is a black and white shot of , well the Dublin Spire. Quite an impressive tall pointy pole in the centre of Dublin, it dominates the city which has few other tall buildings. The shot was taken last summer when I was visiting Dublin for the first time in ten years, and how it had changed!

Photo of the Week - Grand Harbour
This is a shot from the Grand Harbour in Malta. The boat in the front is another traditional Maltese boat that they row around. The shot is taken from Vittoriosa (or Birgu) where the Knights of Malta survived their famous siege from the Turks in 1565. In the background is the city of Senglea.

Photo of the Week - Millesgården
This photo is from a Sculpture Park on the island of Lidingö just outside Stockholm. Most of the sculptures there are from a guy called Carl Milles, Swedens most famous ever Sculptor who studied with Rodin and lived from 1875-1955. He also collected one of the most amazing collections of Greek and Roman sculpture which he almost completely destroyed when he had a bad mood one day - artists!
